The alert icon shows next to the city’s name at the top of the forecast window when there is an alert for the area. Details for the alert are obtained by clicking on the Interface Skin’s Alert icon/button. And only WW’s Splendid Interface Skin has an Alert button option unless you download updated skins from others.
Weather.com, the source of WW’s data and thus barba’s skin data, changes the Today forecast data to “NA” about 3:00PM. If you were using the skin after that time NA is normal. If however you were viewing the skin in the morning then there is indeed a problem.
Update:
It’s a bug. I just switched my WW window to it and it does indeed show Today’s Wind as “N/A”. It shows in the globe image and in My Splendid skin as 3 mph so 3 is the proper value.
On the suggestion side I wish the animated portion of the barometer was an overlay to the base barometer background rather than embedded in it. The four icons in a transparent setting would be perfect.
(Adding a blank or two or a couple of separador.gifs between the city’s name and the alert icon would be nice also. ) ;-)
I must admit weather skins are proving to be quite an education for me. Recently I learned that the moon phases are reversed south of the equator and now with this skin I see the compass’ N points down while S points up south of the equator.
The NE images do not match the others. They are are a darker green. I don’t recall what they were originally unfortunately.
And I hate to be a nitpicker but imo the Days folder should be under the Images folder and the two different sets of day images should be consolidated under the Days folder.
The NE was made a darker green on purpose. The problem is that the background where the NE is supposed to be is the sunlite Africa part of the globe. Originally, Barba made the NE in blue, but the font was real tiny and the blue blended in with the ocean.
Since I know nothing about editing images, my mother tried her hand in it. The first draft of the new NE was a light green, but the NE was hardly visible, so we had to go with a darker shade. The font was also increased for higher visiblity.
As for the day images, I tried doing what you said, and edited the daily.wtp file to reference the day images in the image folder, but without success, so I changed it back. I noticed in the Stone Soup that the Days folder is not in the Image folder. All I’m really concerned about is that the skin works fine when I’m using it.
Considering that I know absolutely nothing on the programming language associated with skins, it’s a miracle that I was able to fix all the bugs without any problems whatsoever.
