Daily page is blank. Bottom of Current page is blank

Everything is set to default in the internet options and medium low is what mine is set at also.

Something on your machine is disabling Javascript/ActiveX/Jscript from executing in html files on your hd. Since the problem exists even with Comodo uninstalled Comodo can’t be the cause. What other security apps do you have running?

I run Windows Defender and Avast! and Comodo (2.x) and I don’t have the problem so one of them can’t be the cause your problem.

Very strange.

If you run a Search of the hd for files that containing the word “current.html” what shows up? I’m assuming whatever is interferring with current.html is logging it’s actions and if the log is found the app will be determined.

I have only the Comodo Security suite running. No other security apps are running.

Here’s what I get when I search for current.html:

It’s a little hard to see, I know.

Yes hard to view but not the search I wanted to see. You searched for files named that, I want you to search for files containing the name.

Feeling like a dolt and using Windows Vista, I’m having trouble figuring out how to “search for files containing the name”. I knew how to do that in XP but things have changed. I did an advanced search to look “everywhere” but it yielded the same results.

bgfunk76, I quickly glanced at the Vista search feature and I did not see an option to search within files either. Check out your screenshot above. There is a “Search in File Contents” link right under your search results.

Doing a search for file contents gave the same result.

After using IE for a little while (which I don’t normally do) I came across a couple of pages that said, as Ed said earlier, that “Scripting wasn’t enabled”. Then it instructed me to:
“On the Tools menu, click Internet Options, and then click the Security tab.
Click the Internet zone.
If you do not have to customize your Internet security settings, click Default Level. Then do step 4
If you have to customize your Internet security settings, follow these steps:
a. Click Custom Level.
b. In the Security Settings – Internet Zone dialog box, click Enable for Active Scripting in the Scripting section.
Click the Back button to return to the previous page, and then click the Refresh button to run scripts.”

The Internet Options were already set up this way and there was no further help.

You have one weird system.

This is the best I can offer you:

I hope it helps.

Trust me, I have done a lot of searching on this with no luck. A couple forum threads that I did find about it had no answers either. I do appreciate all of your help. I have posted my issue in a couple of Windows forums. We’ll see what happens. :???:

If you find a recent Splendid current.html forecast file and dbl click on it what do you see? Is the window the same as what WW’s Current Forecast window?

Does the file open in IE or your default browser? If not IE, open IE and drag the file to the IE window. Do you see any error msgs?

This is when I double click the icon (Opens with Firefox)_http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/5285/60591257.jpg

This is when I open the file in IE.

After help from a windows support forum my issue was mostly resolved by following these steps:

  1. Run command prompt as Administrator

  2. Type the following command and hit Enter:
    regsvr32 jscript.dll

  3. Type the following command and hit Enter:
    regsvr32 vbscript.dll

Still though, my Daily page is blank when I change the Forecast skin to Splendid.

:D/ Excellent news!! :thumbright: Thank you for the update.

For the Daily forecast have you checked the steps I gave to PatrickB at the top of the thread?

Yes and it worked this time unlike the previous time. Thanks for all your help Ed. Problem solved.
