Windows 8 display issue

Hi Mike,

Awhile back I think you fixed some display issues with Windows 8. I’m still occasionally having an issue with the system tray icon where the text is blurred. I took a screenshot and you can tell that it is a little bit messed up but the actual one looks a little worse than the screenshot.

It seems to happen whenever there is a severe weather alert and then after the alert is over or if the alert is cancelled, it turns back to blurry instead of the normal text. Restarting the computer always fixes the problem.

Please post a screenshot of the “Tray Icon” → “Colors” section of the Weather Watcher Live Options window. I’d like to see what you have setup there.

I don’t think I changed the defaults but I’ve using WWL so long I don’t remember.

Thanks for the screenshot. I’m looking into this. I’ll let you know what I find.

Hi Mike,

I hadn’t noticed the problem in awhile (and I’ve been updating WWL) but it did it again this morning after a reboot. No severe weather alerts this time as far as I know. I’m using 7.1.86 now. Exiting WWL and launching the app again corrects the problem.

Maaz, I’m having no luck reproducing this issue. Please export your Weather Watcher Live registry settings and email them to me at [email protected]. Here are the steps to export your registry settings:

1) Press the Win (Windows Key) + R to open the “Run” window, enter “regedit”, and click the “OK” button.

2) Navigate to the following registry key in the left menu:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Weather Watcher Live

3) Right-click on the “Weather Watcher Live” key, choose “Export”, enter a file name, and click the “Save” button.
