After installing 7.1.94 and launching WWL, I briefly saw what looked like a “legitimate” Now screen image but it immediately disappeared and I only see a blank panel. I do see the tabs across the top of the panel (Refresh Now Hourly etc) but clicking on those tabs has absolutely no effect. See attached screen shot. The context menu (right click) of the taskbar icon does appear to work ok (e.g., I can change the Weather Station,etc). Re-installing the previous version of WWL results in a working application. Then installing the 7.1.94 again resulted in the situation described above (I even re-downloaded the WWL7194.exe and ran it - to no avail).
By changing the skin from Splendid4 to Splendid2, Splendid3 or Text Only provided some information in the panel (but sometimes the map region is blank).

I very seldom use the IE browser anymore; I generally use Chrome (currently Version 27.0.1453.110 m). I used chrome when I downloaded the new WWL exe. Is this a problem?
Weather Watcher Live uses an Internet Explorer control to display the weather data in its main window. That occurs regardless of which web browser you normally use.
If you open Internet Explorer now, are you able to open websites? Do you know if JavaScript is disabled in Internet Explorer?
Yes, I can open any website in Explorer Browser.

Did you try rebooting since installing the new version? I’m wondering if a simple reboot will fix it. Someone else reported that worked for them.
Yes, at least 2 or 3 times. Do you think I should do a complete uninstall of WWL, then run the new installer executable? I have been just installing the new without uninstalling the existing. Are there any hidden installation log files somewhere on my computer that would help you?

You are not the only one. A few others have reported this too.
A clean install would be something to try. I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue yet, so I’m not sure if that’ll do the trick or not.
Try installing the following update over top of your existing version of Weather Watcher Live:

Whatever you do don’t take away splendid 3. “Change” is not always good, and your latest is a prime example. It took months to get the last change to where it should be and I don’t want to sit and play over and over again. From the posts I see a lot of people are having trouble with your newest versions. Maybe it is time to leave well enough alone.
Chunker, I don’t normally remove old skins/features – just continue to develop new ones. The issue with the Splendid4 skin has been resolved. In the world of thousands of different computer configurations, it’s not uncommon to have to battle through odd bugs at times.
The majority of users were not affected by this issue. If that was the case, then I think we would have seen hundreds of posts. We didn’t see that though.
Hey Mike, the WWL7196.exe that you linked me to works great! I love the new Splendid4 skin look and functionality. Kudos for for your efforts in rapidly resolving the problem!
