I notice today that the tooltip shows the tempature as 61F and now shows 61f where as the hourly figure shows the correct 78F with a blue sky all day it is not likely to show a jump of 17 degrees

It looks like that weather station went down at about 8:30 AM today. See the recorded history here:

The forecasts seem to be correct, but the conditions are going to be incorrect until that weather station comes back online.
