Splendid Mobile (Now Splendid Mini)

Is it possible to buy Windows Mobile without buying a PDA or such device? Can it be run in a virtual, VMware or QEMU, type environment?

The emulators I use come with Microsoft Visual Studio. I don’t know that you can install them without Visual Studio though.

Do you have any documentation on Windows Mobile’s JScript? What it can do what it can’t do?

I just figured it out by trial and error. I googled around for a few minutes, but I did not have any luck tracking down documentation. There has to be some floating around somewhere

So what part of my Mobile skins don’t work due to JScript limitations and what part don’t work due to WW tag limitations?

Your skin would have to be tested in order to determine that. Any takers?

It would appear you can get the emulator installed w/o the rest of Visual Studio. These URLs should help:

Judging from the Options menu, and the file structure, There doesn’t appear to be an option to skin the interface on WW Mobile at this time. Mike may have some plan to do that in the future, but given the limited real estate on the Windows Mobile platform it would be a lower priority.

Drat. How about the interface’s buttons, are they available?

Wow!! Nice Hunz. Thanks.

The interface and it’s buttons are simple. Th Interface is full screen like 99.9% of Pocket PC apps and the buttons are as simple as it gets: Just the words Current, Hourly, Daily, Detail, Alerts accross the top. Here’s the screenshot Mike posted in the RSS and the interface is virually unchanged.

Unfortunately creating buttons is not my forte.

No. The mobile version replaces the buttons with a tab control.

Drats!!

Anyways my version of this skin has been updated. See these postings for the download link.

Ok, here’s my poor attempt at an alternate interface skin for Splendid Mini.

It’s called Eds Mini and is included in my overall EdsSkins.WWS file which can be downladed from here.

I like it. http://www.mundogasol.com/foro/clap.gif

 Thanks Hunz, I was hoping you would. There’s some minor tweaks in the Eds Splendid Mini Forecasts also in the wws download.

All in all this has been a fun project. I love how it looks on my notebook’s screen. Thanks for posting the original skin.

Hunz, you may like the current version of the skin also.

Note the width is the same but the forecast now fits on one line.

As usual download from here.

Looks great Ed. Your Mini skins that have come out of this are perfect for lower resolution systems without much desktop real estate.
