WW calling IE instead of default browser

I try to avoid using Internet Explorer at all costs. It’s very prone to hijacking by spyware.

I notice that when I go to the website via right-clicking the Weather Watcher icon in the systray, it does not pull up my default web browser (currently Firefox), it pulls up IE instead.

Please change WW to only use the user-specified default browser.

This will help keep my system more secure.

hobiecat, your default browser should be used, unless you click links inside of the Weather Watcher forecasts. I’m assuming something is set incorrectly on your computer somewhere.

Firefox has many security problems. See the post at the bottom of this page:

hobiecat so long as you don’t click on a link that offers something for FREE you’re pretty safe with IE or any other browser. Weather.com is a safe site and Weather Watcher’s use of it is limited.

As I tell many of my clients/friends/family if you see an ad that says something is free ask yourself, who’s paying for the ad. If you click on it, it will be you in one way or another. [:)]
