Wallpaper disappeared!

I just upgraded to v 5.6.8 and now my wallpaper doesn’t work. It worked with the previous version 10 minutes ago.

Whats up?[?]

Me too! Wallpaper doesn’t work at all! Maps themselves still work, as checked from the “Maps” tab in the main window.

To both, When you right click on the WW icon on the desktop, then click on Options, then click on Wallpaper, is your auto-update choice set to ‘never update’ ?

No, it's set to "Every 15 minutes" and "Update wallpaper on Weather Watcher startup" is checked. Neither is happening.

Seth, try selecting a new map at the bottom of the “Wallpaper” Options.

Doesn’t make a difference. Wallpaper is not displayed.

(Sorry, I don’t speak english very much)
My wallpaper disappeared too.
Perhaps a problem with PNG format ? (I use Windows 2000 Professional)

Seth and skypilot, which version of Windows are you using?

Mike,

Upgraded WW on my two work computers this morning, and have the same issue on one of them, the one running Win2K. My XPSP2 computer works just fine. I have tried your recommendations to no avail.

Thanks for a great product. I install it on every computer I use and use it frequently.

bmcalist, it sounds like this is just an issue with Windows 2000 users.

Please e-mail me if you are experiencing this issue and are interested in testing a fix.

Yes, I’m using W2K SP4+. I’m willing to try a fix, I’ve emailed you separately.

OK. I got mine figgered out. I think. [?] Right clicking on the desktop and selecting “Properties” then “Web” I checked “View my active desktop as a web page”, clicked “Apply,” and there was my wallpaper. Somehow in updating to the new version, that particular feature must have been unchecked. [:)]

Thanks for a great program.

Here is a new Weather Watcher update:
http://www.singerscreations.com/files/w … fix/ww.exe

To install the update:

  1. Make sure Weather Watcher is closed.

  2. Download the above file to “C:\Program Files\Weather Watcher” – replace the “ww.exe” that is there now.

  3. Run Weather Watcher and see if the wallpaper
    updates.

Using Windows 2kPro SP1 unable to see wallpaper on desktop. Previous fix did not work for 2kPro

Rather than deleting files, especially to test something, I think it is wiser/safer/easier/better to simply rename the file to be replaced. Thus the steps to back out the test are easier.

Here’s a new setup:

This version uses the Weather Watcher 5.6.7 wallpaper changer method.

This version includes a new wallpaper feature that uses the wallpaper changer method from Weather Watcher 5.6.7 or Weather Watcher 5.6.8:
