UV index = "N/A" & other weather data sources

Dear Mike and everyone,

I am interested to see UV index in my WW configuration, therefore, I choose it to have it shown up in the tray icon and in the WW window.

However, it has been 2 days since I installed WW 5.6.23, and I still get “N/A” for the UV index for the city that I live in (Vancouver, B.C., Canada).

When I checked weather.com website (the main source of data for WW?), it seems that they have the UV index data for the USA and some other countries (http://www.weather.com/maps/activity/skinprotection/index_large.html), but apparently not for Canada (how strange! considering we are close neighbour). Nevertheless, Canadian govt issue daily UV index data for the different cities and provinces of Canada in their official website (http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/canada_e.html). Is it possible that you link up this govt website in your WW updating routine so that data gaps from weather.com can be filled up by data from other reliable sources?

Also, can we (users) customize the weather data sources ourselves? Say, can I personally link up Environment Canada weather data source into your WW interface? If yes, how could I do that?

Thank you very much for your attention to these questions.

Unfortunately no. Would be a nice option though.

No. See above.

It’s possible the Canadian sources of the UV data don’t have the ability to share it (limited servers or prior legal obligations) or want more for it than TWC is willing to pay.

Thank you EdP!
