Severe Alert Update

First off, I LOVE the new setup. Two questions, however:

  1. Is there a way to access the options menu when the program is brought onto the screen (as opposed to being minimized into the toolbar?)

  2. Where is the setup for severe update alerts in the form of a popup balloon? I know we can set it up so we can have an alert and such, but the default is that a baloon pops up with the alert, right? That’s what I like to use, and only that. How can I make sure it is enabled?
