forecast has sticked on the 38th - 39th week (16-22 of Sept)

For many days (or weeks, I don’t know) WWL shows in the tabs Now (upper and lower parts od window) and Daily “forecast” for period from 16 to 22 of Sept 2009. Pressing “Update” button, restarting the app, reloading the matrix  does not give any effect…

However it shows the correct data for the current moment in the system tray and in in the middle section of the tab Now.
I can make a screenshot if needed.

What it could mean and how to unfreeze the forecast?

Thanks!

Which version of Weather Watcher Live are you using? Please do post some screenshots.

I’ve just updated the version to the 6.1.03.
The screenshot is here: http://img188.imageshack.us/img188/6227/snap2502.gif

So can I hope for some help or rather not? The problem has persisted already 3 months :frowning:

Actually I don’t even wish to find the error and to remove it. What I really whish is to remove totally WWL from my system in order to install it again from zero. But all my tries were not successfull: a new installation inherits this bug from the previous installation, even if I manually erase the whole branch [HKEY_USERS{%user%}\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Weather Watcher Live] in the system registry…
Could you please give me full list on folders and system registry branches where some settings might be stored at my system, so I’ll be able to find them all and remove and the re-install WWL.

Hope the answer to my question will not take more then 3-4 minutes…

See the following link for the locations of the files Weather Watcher Live creates:

You should also try installing the latest version of Weather Watcher Live:

Well, it was simply cached data. I’ve removed the whole branch CACHE from the system registry: [HKEY_USERS%user_name\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\Weather Watcher Live\Cache and “sticked” dates are gone.

But no any fresh dates have come instead  Now the tab “Daily” is simply empty and the tab “Now” shows only today’s data table in the upper part of the tab, but neither the forecast in the lower part nor the 2-days forecast in the upper left corner.

What could it mean?

Please post a screenshot.

Well, there is no much to see there, but if you wish… See above.

leo, I have some questions for you:

1) Which version of Weather Watcher Live are you using?

2) Do you see current weather data when you mouse over the Weather Watcher Live system tray icon?

3) Which format is selected in the “Regional and Language Options” section of the Windows Control Panel? Feel free to post a screenshot of that window.

Mike Singer,

  1. My version is 6.1.03.
Yes, I know, that it is not the last one, but I don’t wish to update version before I’ll get to know, what’s is the cause of this glitch.
  2. Yes.
  3. Please see the screenshot of my Windows XP Regional options.

I believe the version you’re using has a bug that is causing the glitch. You’re going to have to install 6.1.28 or version 7.

Excuse me, what’s the version 7? I’ve searched trough the whole site, but it seems, that the last unofficial beta is Weather Watcher Live 6.1.28 http://www.singerscreations.com/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=3544. Have I missed anything?

6.1.28 is the current version. It’s not a beta and is more stable than the release you’re currently using. You can download it from my homepage at SingersCreations.com.

About a week ago, I emailed you a link to Weather Watcher Live 7. It is not a public release yet, but will be next week. It will be replacing version 6.1.28.

I’ve updated the version to 7.0.23, but it had no any effect.
However reading this forum I’ve found the cause of the issue. It is same as in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=3530. That means, that WWL is not able to detect the current system date, if the short date custom format assigned in the section “Regional and Language Options” includes any symbols besides digits.

As I have no option to refuse using my current short date format, it seems, that I have to search something instead of WWL… Pity :frowning:

Give me some time to look into this and I’ll get back to you. I might be able to work around this issue on my end.

Surely I’ll wait  Your application is the best I’ve ever seen in this category, so I’d prefer not to refuse using it.

Please try the following Weather Watcher Live build and let me know if it resolves this issue:

Seems, that the new version does work with my custom short date format ddd/dd/mm/yyyy as well! Thank you very much!

P.S
WWL is the best weather forecast app!

Good to hear
