Just check the 6 topics avobe this one, there are some skins posted (and creater, I guess) by Mike, and that skins are in .wws; also he posted that we must unzip the file to install the skin (I guess it was in lowers versions than beta 8);
As you’d now the 7-zip is a file manager too, so, once I downloaded the skin, I explored the folder where I saved it with 7-zip, and when a .msi, self-extract (exe), .www (in this case), etc… is open, 7-zip just open the folders that are compressed into the file.
Then using logical, I made a zip, then I renamed it *.wws, and done.
About the images, I don’t know what’s happeing to my server, sometimes I see images, sometimes I see the error message…
Does the downloads fail too[?]

I’ve changed some images that were wrong, now I’m re-uploading the files EyeCady_icons.7z and EyeCandy.wws

Yeah! it works with beta 10 too, but i’ve fixed a little mistake with the folders’ instalation.

BTW contreras there is a dramatic difference in size between the June 21st version of EyeCandy_icons and the July 15th version. 259KB vs 85KB. The icons are all there but the Thumbs.db is of a difference size. Why is that?
BTW You can/could delete the Thumbs file from the 7Z/Zip file altogether. Windows recreates it automatically.

Just downloaded your “Eye Candy” skin to use with WW 5.6 beta 10. Just thought I’d let you know it works fine with beta 10 and that I think it’s a nice skin. Though I like your “Eye Candy” skin, I have to say I like the “Advance” skin the best so far because it’s a totally different look from all the rest. Do you think you or Mike or someone else out there could make another skin, one that really changes the whole WW look? I don’t know anything about writing programs or I’d make one myself. I really like wild-looking and unique skins. Just an example/suggestion: Maybe one that is shaped like a cloud with a bolt of lightning coming out of it (with the controls being on the lightning). If someone could do it, that would be great! Thanks for reading. Later. [:)]

Actually, you don’t need to know about it, the only thing you need to know is how to work with a graphics’ software like Fireworks, Corel Draw, etc, even MS-Paint.

As I said, you can do it, just with a .gif image, and about the skin shape or look, you can edit the skin.inf (open it with the notepad), located on the skin folder like C:\Program Files\Weather Watcher\Skins\Interface\EyeCandy
into the file you can specify te X,Y locations, and color for the diferent objects, and other things. I recomend to you to experiment with those thigs and don’t worry if your skin doesn’t work at the first time, just learn about what’s wrong and improve it, really I did it.
So, If you have a concrete idea to mak a new skin, just post it and I’ll be totatly available to help you! [:D]

Thanks for the info. I do have MS-Paint and know the basics of it but don’t have a lot of time and am kind of nervous about messing around with things like that to tell the truth. I think I’ll leave the skin making to the pros like yourself. [;)]
I do have a couple ideas for skins such as the one I posted earlier, the cloud shape with a lightening bolt with the controls on the lightening bolt. I posted that and a couple other ideas in the “Suggestions” forum including a pair of sunglasses, a tornado or really just any kind of weather related object would be cool. Just whatever someone is able to come up with that works. I’m not picky but I do like cool-looking skins. Take care. Later.

FYI
When I use the EyeCandy Interface skin the WW window is not resizeable when WW initially comes up. If I switch to the Classic Interface skin then back to the EyeCandy skin the window is resizeable. Not sure what you need to tweak to resolve that. The problem doesn’t occur with any of the other Interface skins.
BTW The Download Status window doesn’t work with the yeCandy’s Interface skin either. If I click on the Update Weather Now icon the status bar is completely black all the way across for the whole update period.
I’ve been away for a long time, well, I’m repacking the skin, now it seems to work with beta 11. [8D]
